Rock band 'ba.' releases album inspired by stormy seas

The popularity wave of Lithuanian rockers  'ba.' continues to rise. In addition to performing the biggest rock concert in Vingis park for a local band since the 90s and signing with Sony Music, the band has finally released their new album, 'NAUTO'.

The most devoted of fans were the first to hear this musical gem. It was broadcasted from the band’s studio via a specific radio frequency. Those in the know about this exclusive event could listen to all the new songs whilst driving around Vilnius.

"We aimed to make our most aggressive and dirty record yet," says Benas, the frontman of 'ba.'.

'NAUTO' has been two years in the making and is inspired by stormy seas. Benas started collecting ideas and musical fragments since their last record in 2019, but it was only when the band's studio was set up in the former prison in Vilnius (Lukiskiu Jail) that the new tunes began to emerge. Finally, the lyrics of 'NAUTO' were written by the Lithuanian seaside:

"I wrote all the new lyrics while visiting the Curonian Spit during winter. The whole album is inspired by rough sea, storms, lighthouses, and signals", says Benas.

Later, in another coastal town of Lithuania, together with composer and producer Domas Strupinskas, whom Benas has admired since his early teens, they put all the key dots together.

"We wanted to have more of a heavy sound in our concerts, so this time we paid special attention to the rhythm section - the drums and bass. 'NAUTO' is not only the most complex work recorded by 'ba.' but also the most challenging," says Benas, the frontman and songwriter of 'ba. '.

The album tour is scheduled for early 2023: January 6th in Vilnius, at the Compensa Concert Hall, January 14th in Kaunas, at Daina cinema, and January 28th in Klaipėda, at Hofas.
