S&T Syndicate releases new album as answering machine message

S&T Syndicate new album "Elevator music 2.1”

S&T Syndicate has shared their second studio album "Elevator music 2.1", the first music album to be released as an answering machine message. To listen, call: +371 67473067.

With a title that ironically reflects the concept of elevator music and the role of instrumental music in everyday life, S&T Syndicate announces their own version of elevator music 2.1, where you can meet the most unusual types in the elevator and the elevator itself is one that can take you to the most unusual places. "Elevator music 2.1” is an unpredictable ride, after which the listener comes out completely different from before.

S&T Syndicate was formed in 2009 by three musicians: Mārtiņš Jurjāns – keys/synthesizers, Rihards Vāvere – drums and Nauris Kolmanis – saxophone. The trio was active in making music with features of funk, acid jazz, drum and bass, as well as ambient, in short – fusion with electronics and sampling. In 2017, with an expanded line-up, they released the album "Interaction", which earned a 2018 Golden Microphone nomination in the "Best Jazz Album"  category.

The new line-up, including Kaspars Lastovskis and Ernests Rasa, has been active in the studio and recorded the album "Elevator music 2.1" in 2018. Before the album's release, guitarist Ernests Rasa left the band after contributing to the band's sound with solo guitar parts on the album. Now a new guitarist, Robert Gromov, has joined the band, taking up the baton for solo guitar improvisations.

Current line-up: Rihards Vāvere – drums, Mārtiņš Jurjāns – keys, Nauris Kolmanis – saxophone, Kaspars Lastovskis – bass guitar, Roberts Gromovs – guitar, Kaspars Balodis – guitar.
