Kris & Oz and Phonetica Release Single on The King Street Sounds Label

“Changes”, the single produced by Latvian indie-soul band Kris & Oz and deep house project Phonetica, last Friday dropped on the legendary King Street Sounds in New York.

Kris & Oz has been around for seven years. The band twice (in 2018 and 2019) participated in the national arm of the Eurovision song contest – Supernova, and last August released the song “Changes”, which was written by three original members of the team: Kristina Morins, Alexander Solovyov and Arthur Osipov.

“„Changes” is about dancing, enjoying life, waiting for a change for the better,” the musicians say. “The song is also about good changes in the band: we’ve been joined by bassist Mark recently.”

“After the song was out, Alexander Solovyov of Kris & Oz asked us to remix it,” Max Lomov of Phonetica. – As a result we got two good club versions. We thought these could be good for King Street Sounds, then sent our demos over to them and signed the release deal!”

Founded in 1993, King Street Sounds has established itself as one of the oldest and most respected independent dance music labels in NYC. In combination with sister labels Street King and Nite Grooves, King Street has yielded some of the best dance music releases in house, deep & tech house, Afro and Latin Jazz. Overall catalogue releases include work from producers Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Louie Vega, Danny Tenaglia, Joeski, David Morales, Supernova, DJ Spinna, and Larry Levan among others.

“Changes” is out now via King Street Sounds across major online stores and streaming services.
