Imants Daksis to present new vinyl within concerts in Riga & Liepaja

Singer-songwriter Imants Daksis will celebrate the release of his new vinyl “Vientuļās revolūcijas” (The Only Revolutions) and 20 years on stage with two special gigs - January 28, Riga, cinema "K Suns", and February 3, Liepaja, the cultural house "Wiktorija". Tickets here.

The overall sound of the album expresses the musician's love for Latvian folk music, world music elements, post-punk, as well as for avant-garde.

"These songs have now become the soundtrack of a whole era, but that was not the original intention. My goal was to create a beautiful post-folk album - a tribute to the centenary of Latvia's statehood, featuring mostly acoustic instruments and guitar accompaniments replaced by kokle accompaniments. I was emotionally experiencing the First World War and the beginnings of the Latvian State. For several years I was constantly immersed in reminiscences about the war, until it suddenly became a painful reality..."

The album "Vientuļās revolūcijas" was created by: Imants Daksis (music, lyrics, voice, guitar, sound effects), Kristīne Ādmine-Liepa (kokle), Toms Valmiers (double bass), Mikus Čavarts (percussion), Miķelis Vanags (electric guitar), Oskars Patjanko (harmonica), Elizabete Helmane (voice), Ieva Zeidmane (piano) and Mārtiņš Krastiņš (sound engineering).

The opening part of the concerts will feature songs from the new album, whose mood is dominated by a painful and at the same time clear observation of the world dressed in harshly beautiful melodies, after which Imants Daksis will delight the audience with a selection of his most beautiful and mysterious lullabies, the best known of which are "Elpo, bērns!", "Apziņas mijkrēslī dziļā pamostas bezgalība", "Esība smaržo".

Finally, at the end of the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to experience the eruption of the musician's most expressive songs - "Pasaule ir vaļā", "Andromeda, mēs nākam!", "Atvērts logs".
