Sunset Festival announces the summer season of 2018 with the release of British band “Clean Bandit” on July 5th and the ambitious Radio SWH’s 25th anniversary flash-back event on July 14th. Tickets for both events will go on sale on Monday, December 18th at the “Ticket Service” network. Subsequent concert days and artists will be announced gradually.
The “Sunset Festival” is a series of concert events that take place in the picturesque Sigulda Castle ruins and surrounding area since 2016. The aim of the festival is to develop a high-quality cultural event outside the capital, attracting visitors from all over Latvia and neighboring countries.
Untill this time, there have been such artist’s performances as Damien Rice, rock band “James”, Jessie Ware, “The Naked and Famous”, “The xx”, Karlis Kazaks, “Neon Saturdays”, “ZigZag”, “Franco Franco”, “Rigas Modes”,”My Radiant You”, Chris Noah, ” Audience Killers”, “Bandmaster”. In the first year of the festival, the concert took two separate days, last summer – three, and there are reasonable expectations that the 2018 season will have even more and, therefore, an option for a wide range of music lovers.
Clean Bandit on July 5th The planned Sunset Festival 2018 season is scheduled to begin with the triumphant British trio “Clean Bandit”. Their account is well-known radio hits Rockabye, Symphony, Rather Be, Real Love, I Miss You, Tears, Stronger and many more.
The successful combination of electronic and pop music with the classics (Mozart and Shostakovich) and the smashing soloists of their songs are the key to the success of the British band “Clean Bandit”. Starting with the voice of Jess Glynne in their first international hit Rather Be followed by Real Love; then superhits Rockabye, where vocal parties are shared by Anne-Marie and Sean Paul, and Symphony, where soloist is Zara Larson. As aptly mentioned in the press – as a new song, it hits! Grammy and Urban Music Awards are proofs to trio achievements. It’s important that the live performances of Clean Bandit are no less impressive than their recordings, which are accentuated by enthusiastic attendees of concerts and festivals. Now also we will be able to make sure of that here in Sigulda!
Radio SWH 25th anniversary flash-back on July 14th In spring 1993 Radio SWH, the first Latvian commercial radio of the such level, started its activities. The additional activities of this radio station were the organization of concerts. One of the most ambitious was the launch of Radio SWH. Recalling the events of that time, it was decided to re-assemble the very same artists who performed in Skanstes Street in the summer of July 1993: Dr. Alban, Haddaway, Ace of Base (represented by soloist Jenny Bergren), Army of Lovers and Rozalla. A well-known hit artists who does not need to be introduced because these compositions are still in permanent radar! This time only the place of the concert has been changed – the Sigulda Castle ruins.
