Norwegian electronic music overlords RÖYKSOPP have announced that they will perform at this year‘s one-day festival SUMMER IN THE CITY in June. They will be live on the Friday, 16th of June at Kalnu Parkas, Vilnius (Lithuania). This announcement follows previously announced performances at Over Oslo in Norway, Spain’s Mad Cool Festival and Coachella Festival in USA.
Public sale of tickets to RÖYKSOPP concert in Vilnius begin this Wednesday (22 February) at 10:00 at the “Bilietai.lt” box office and the Internet: www.bilietai.lt. The first tickets will be available just from € 29.
The day before, on Tuesday (21 February.), will be available advance tickets. This option is given to Live Nation Lithuania and Bilietai.lt concert club members.
The legendary Norwegian electronic music duo RÖYKSOPP started in 1998. Both musicians Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland was born and raised in the Tromsø, the northernmost city in the world with a population above 50,000. They both shared love for the same movies and music, have an interest in electronics. At the start they experimented with a variety of electronic music genres and in 2001 released now legendary debut album “Melody A.M.“.
The success of the debut record established RÖYKSOPP name as the most influential electronic music stars. After critics and music lovers praises duo was soon introduced to the Grammy, BRITs and MTV Awards. RÖYKSOPP also won as many as 7 major Norwegian music awards “Spellemannprisen“. All five duo’s studio albums have received significant commercial success, not only in musicians homeland, but also all over the world.
In September of 2014, RÖYKSOPP announced that their next album, titled “The Inevitable End“, would explore darker subject matter with emphasis on the lyrical content, and would be their last album, though they will not stop making music. “Always we tried to destroy the established provisions, however, do not intend to repeat themselves,” – explains his decision T.Brundtland.
Last week, music lovers get their ears on the most recent RÖYKSOPP single “Bounty Hunters.” The track is included on the Star Wars Headspace compilation produced bu world famous Rick Rubin.
RÖYKSOPP is known for its elaborate concert performances. When performing live, the duo often appear in eccentric outfits and use different vocalists as part of their live act. It‘s easy to predict that at their sole show in Baltic States RÖYKSOPP will held a unique show. There is no doubt that during the concert in Vilnius duo will perform “Eple”, “Remind Me”, “So Easy”, “Poor Leno”, “Only This Moment”, “What Else Is There?”, “Running To The Sea” and other hits.
