In the beginning of June young Latvian singer ESTERE (Estere Tauriņa) presented her debut single “Viena diena bez Tevis” (“One Day Without You”). The song is a favorite of the singer, created in a summer mood, and could be compared to warm summer evenings and nostalgic memories of the people whom they were once spent with.
“It was about time and how each of us looks at it, but now the song has been given a different story than it originally was. The song begins with waking up in the morning and realizing that the person you loved is no longer there. And then you begin thinking about what went wrong, analyzing the situation. As the day goes on, however, you remember – that the person said why they were leaving and that they would return.
The song talks about the fact that we often don’t listen to our loved ones, we don’t hear what they tell us, however, we still constantly keep moving forward without looking back, although, maybe sometimes it may be necessary to stop and look back.
It is important to stop and try to understand what the person was trying to say with their actions and words, and that is exactly why the title of the song is “One Day Without You”, because on this one day I try to look back at various events and conclude what really was the reason for why they left and what was it that they said,” ESTERE reveals about the message of the song.
The author of the lyrics and music of the song “One Day Without You” is ESTERE herself. The single has also been made into a lyric video by Madara Dzintara.
