HOME CONCERTS will take place in the most intimate and cozy Āgenskalns concert hall, which is a living room made by two opera singers themselves, where unique music and art evenings will be conjured up. As close as never before.
The first evening of ‘HOME CONCERTS‘ (“Mājas Koncerti”) on August 7th at 7:00 PM will be opened by a group of talented friends and like-minded people “Breakfast 44”, where Andis Klučnieks (flute), Mārtiņš Zilberts (piano), Jānis Stafeckis (double bass) and Aivars Krastiņš (percussion) have devoted themselves to the synthesis of classical and jazz music. The role of the ensemble, highly valued and recognized in the Latvian professional music environment, is special, as it offers a unique synthesis of classical music and jazz or the “third stream”. “Breakfast 44” are one of the few Latvian musicians who have dedicated their work to this style of world music and it will be especially exclusive to enjoy this genre in such an intimate “home” atmosphere in the private and yet publicly not revealed concert hall in Āgenskalns, hosted by the world’s favorite couple of opera – singers Jānis Apeinis and Perrine Madoeuf.
Music journalist Orests Silabriedis says about the ensemble “Breakfast 44”: “It is a group of very talented friends and like-minded people, famous for their mocartically easy attitude towards sounds and their compositions. It can be said that the motto of the group is to make people happy in a way that pleases the musicians themselves. Fragile and sophisticated play, tasteful jokes – sound silhouettes impeccably professional and expressive like good ink drawings.”
