Frankie Animal new single ‘Night & Day’

Frankie Animal’s single “Night & Day” is a story about taking an alternative look at people you know. The title of the song “Night & Day” emphasizes a change in perspective, when one begins to see a friend in a new light and these thoughts hold us captive both day and night.

The band members describe the sound of the song as it could be in a 2002 romantic comedy soundtrack – in the best sense of the word: “There is some era-specific naivety and optimism in that song – it’s sound and instruments are reminiscent of bands and sounds of that time, like Lenny Kravitz.”

The song tests the border between love and friendship – the friendship evolves into something more with every conversation and glass of wine. Crossing this border makes it impossible to go back to the original dimensions of the relationship.

This sweet-dreamy feeling, which was also embedded in Frankie Animal’s previous singles “Peaches” and “Honey“, has been preserved in their new song – the feeling that you almost reach your desire and this distance between wanting and getting is the string that connects these songs to each other.

Frankie Animal hints that the story is a tribute to the 2000’s and the listener is taken back to a night, when everything changed for two friends. What’s going to happen next? Listen to Frankie Animal’s new single to find out.

Frankie Animal is an alternative-pop/rock band from Estonia, with a core of three musicians – Marie M. Vaigla on lead vocals, Jan-Christopher Soovik on bass and Jonas Kaarnamets on guitars. Through persistent work and having performed at many festivals in the region such as Tallinn Music Week and Positivus but also further at Eurosonic Noorderslag and Waves Vienna, they have established themselves as one of the leading alternative bands in Estonia.

The bands’ nostalgic sound, accompanied by Marie’s sultry vocals, their blend of catchy hooks and soaring guitar solos, retro sounds and modern production have earned them a spot in the hearts of their nation.

In 2018 they reached the finals of the Eesti Laul song competition, viewed by over 200 000 people. They have also charted several times in the Year-End charts of Estonia’s leading alternative radio station – Raadio 2, with their single “Playful” being one of its most played tracks of 2019 as well as their last year’s single “Restless.
