One of the most sought-after opera singers in the world, mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, will perform for the first time at the Latgale Embassy GORS with a solo concert on October 13. FILM EVENT: MANHATTAN SHORT in Liepaja1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Ventspils

MANHATTAN SHORT is the only event of its kind. A selection of nine final short films is simultaneously shown all over the world in a one-month period, and the nominations – Best Film and Best Actor – are determined with the questionnaires submitted to the audience. This year’s selection of nine final short films includes drama, comedy and animation to focus on a variety of topics, from identity like what it means to be a parent, to seemingly frustrating everyday problems. Despite the concerns, the big concert of the jazz band “Very Cool People”, Edavārdi, ansis and Kristīne Prauliņa will be performing on October 14 at the Riga Culture and Entertainment Center “Hanzas perons”, Hanzas Street 16a. We will hear the outstanding pianist Andrejs Osokins together with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra in one of the most frequently played opuses of Sergei Rachmaninoff – the Third Piano Concerto. The basic question addressed by TOČKA is “where am I” both as an individual and society as a whole. What tendencies are visible in the functioning of society? And how do we fit in with these tendencies or not as individuals? Is a comprehensive understanding even possible in a sea of ​​contrasting views? Artists are given the opportunity to talk about topics that are important to them at the moment, to express their position on what is happening in the world, society and cultural space.
