JULY 14 – August 1

ART EVENT: Exhibition “Arvīds Egle. Klusais Pieskāriens ” from the LKM collection, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Rēzekne

Exhibition “Arvīds Egle. Klusais Pieskāriens” (“Arvīds Egle. Silent Touch ”), from the Art Collection of the Latgale Museum of Cultural History is open until August 2! A painter and a member of the Rezekne group of artists of the 20th century. The LKM collection includes 65 paintings by this outstanding artist, made both in the interwar period in Rēzekne and the after World War II times in Rīga. Almost all of this collection – 61 works of art – have been donated to the museum by the author himself.

MUSIC EVENT: Vladislavs Nastavševs. Rāmie šovi* at Kalnciema Quarter, 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM, Rīga

Kalnciems quarter invites to special concerts on Tuesday evenings, these will no doubt become unforgettable experiences. On the evening of July 14, director and musician Vladislavs Nastavševs will create a lyrical atmosphere in the Kalnciems quarter with his solo concert, performing songs from performances and original music with a message that makes time stop, making us listen and focus on self-reflection. MUSIC EVENT: Goran Gora / Asnate Rancāne & Staņislavs Judins – concert in the yard, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Riga

Goran Gora, Asnate Rancāne & Staņislavs Judins – all three artists in the yard in one concert! After a six-year hiatus, singer Goran Gora released his fifth album, ‘Renaissance’, in April this year. Goran Gora will perform together with his long-term stage partners – multi-instrumentalist Mārtiņš Milevskis and bassist Valters Sprūdžs.

“Stanislav Yudin & Asnate Rancane” is an unusual domestic ethno minimalist music duo with jazz double bassist Stanislavs Judins and the leader of the folk music association “Tautumeitas” Asnate Rancāne. Stanislavs Judins seeks inspiration in ethnic, folk music, Asnate Rancāne – improvisation. The overall sound is created by combining Stanislav’s improvisations and compositions with Asnate’s knowledge of ethnic music and folklore. Original music with folk texts in the duo’s repertoire is complemented with folk melodies. TICKETS


COMEDY EVENT: Stand-up comedy Double-show at Spīķeri, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM, Riga

On July 15, comedians Jānis Kreičmanis and Maksims Trivaškevičs will step on the Spīķeri open-air stage to have a laugh together about various ordinary and unusual situations in their lives, in Latvia and in the world! Come have a laugh!


MUSIC EVENT: EQ3 // Backyard Concert, 6:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Riga

Equanimity Trio /EQ3/ is a musical union that brings together three like-minded musicians and friends. Trio performs their own original music at the heart of which is a wish to express themselves through art, create in the moment, break boundaries and to truly make music together. Their playing draws influences from a wide variety of styles such as jazz, academic, rock music and others. Their music is characterised by vast and meditative musical scenery with strong and lasting rhythms and spirited, energetic interplay between the musicians. MUSIC & SOCIAL EVENT: Grimbergen Summer Festival in Berga Bazaar, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Riga 

For the sixth time, the Grimbergen Summer Festival will take place in Berga Bazaar, allowing small musical projects and leisurely music lovers to meet in person in the historic courtyard. Come join the warm intimate atmosphere! On July 15 guests of Berga Bazaar will be musically delighted by the leader of the “Latvian Blues BandBux or Jānis Bukovskis, offering to enjoy to the most beautiful blues ballads.

STREET FOOD EVENT: Street -2m- Food in Kalnciems quarter, happening on July  from 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM

“Street -2m- Food” in Kalnciems quarter will take place every week from Wednesday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:00 This is not only an opportunity for many new at-home-chefs to take a break from cooking and to simply please themselves with something different, but also to support local businesses that are idle due to the pandemic.

“Lielais Dzintars” invites to the first concert of the new project “Viva Latvija” of the Inese Galante Foundation, where the unique soprano owner, opera singer Inese Galante and the new star of pianism Daumants Liepiņš will perform together. On July 17, we invite you to the concert “Cantando y amando” at Mežaparks Green Theater! Mezzo-soprano Ilona Bagele has established herself not only as a LNO soloist, but also as a colourful jazz and popular music interpreter. CLASSICAL MUSIC EVENT: Musical Soirées in Jurmala, 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Jurmala

In the cycle of “Rīga Jūrmala” musical evenings, which will take place in Rīga and Jūrmala until the end of August, it is planned to play recordings of concerts that were cancelled – the festival wants to create a feeling that the melody is created in the city, its parks, trees, bushes. The enjoyment of audio concerts is complemented by light objects and the created mood, the artistic author of which is the artist Krišs Salmanis. We are continuing the events that have already taken place opposite the Latvian National Opera with two musical evenings in Jūrmala, on the beach of Turaidas Street near the Dzintari Concert Hall.

Charming Latvian singer and composer Linda Leen will give a solo concert at the piano in a very intimate and exclusive atmosphere. Linda will perform her music, read poems created from her own songs, and there will also be a musical premiere from the artist. The new program was premiered at the first live concert at the “Hanzas Perons” venue after the quarantine restrictions were softened . Potato Palm Gone with the Wind – is an offsite event of the Salaspils-born music festival Potato Palm in Liepāja. Festival is created by music journalist and Uldis Rudaks and this will be its third year. Festival’s musicians are not selected based on their popularity, but the originality of their music. ART EVENT: Musical Tour of Concert Hall Great Amber in Liepāja, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Liepāja

The Liepāja concert hall Great Amber is renowned for its excellent acoustics and its contemporary architecture. In order for visitors to not only see the concert hall but also experience its special sound during the pandemic, Great Amber is collaborating with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and have come up with a completely new and groundbreaking offer – Musical Tours, where visitors are invited on a musical holiday trip around the concert hall.

Participants of the Musical Tour will be accompanied by an expert guide to not only get to know the concert hall building, see the amazing panorama views of the city and learn intriguing facts about the creation process of the concert hall, but also enjoy a small concert on the stage of the Hall, prepared by the musicians of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra for them.
