The Estonian alternative pop band Gram-Of-Fun have released a brand new single titled “Melancholy” that is a perfect fit for those dark autumn nights. The track is now up on all streaming platforms.
“I’m a rather melancholic person myself so it kinda feels like home,” says the author of the lyrics and the lead vocalist of “Melancholy,”, Kostja Tsõbulevski.
“I keep coming back and falling into it unexpectedly. It’s full of nostalgia, joy, pain, amazement, ecstasy and looks for explanation for the truth. Sincere and honest creation is possible thanks to melancholy, often when you least expect it.”
Guitarist of the band, Raul Ojamaa agrees: “Everyone who has lost or missed something or someone has felt somekind of melancholy. This deficit is often the basis of creativity. This is why we know artists being constantly in pain.”
The producer of “Melancholy”, Martin “Muudu” Kuut comments on the birth process of the song:
“For me it was a track that slowed down the constant merry-go-round in my head on the moment I heard the first demo. It peaceful and forgiving. When I saw how well Kostja’s and Raul’s ideas clicked with my own vision of the song, I felt it’s a very special moment for Gram-Of-Fun. Everything went very smoothly.”
