Indie rockers “Colours of Bubbles”, named the best rock band in Lithuania for several years and a frequent guest at music festivals both in Latvia and Estonia, release a second part to their highly acclaimed collaboration album with St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra “Untold Story” (2018).

The live album was recorded last autumn in a concert-turned-musical film that was filmed without an audience in the Russian Drama Theatre of Lithuania and premiered on television this January. Originally intending to present their new show in a concert tour in Lithuanian cities due to quarantine the band opted for a concert-musical film and an earlier release of the long awaited LP “Untold Story: Chapter 2”.

In the beginning of April “Untold Story: Chapter 2” was released digitally on all platforms as well as on CD and double vinyl.

“It’s an amazing gift for us, as well as the beginning of an end to an important journey for our band”, – says Julijus Aleksovas, the vocalist of “Colours of Bubbles”.

“In spite of all the difficulties and interferences, the pandemic and quarantine situation, we managed to successfully finish everything we wished for the recording of “Untold Story: Chapter 2”.”

“We are proud and happy to have our friends – St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, youth choir “Vilnius Voices”, guest musicians, and a huge team of light and sound engineers who all gave the finger to the unfavourable circumstances and together with us went to the end.”

Untold Story: Chapter 2” – is a second live album by the Lithuanians rockers, the six album in their discography, and the latest release since 2019 when “Colours of Bubbles” released the third studio album “9 mm”.

A 14-track “Untold Story: Chapter 2” includes mostly songs from the “9 mm” LP, as well previously not recorded with St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra tracks from the first two studio albums “Inspired by a True Story” (2014) and “She Is the Darkness” (2016).

The collaboration between indie rockers from Šiauliai and the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra led by Modestas Barkauskas, a talented conductor and orchestra director awarded the Golden Stage Cross started back in 2017 when together they played a sold-out six concert tour in Lithuania. The tour was a success as it offered a unique synthesis of rock and classical music and gained new fans to the band.

Author of “Colours of Bubbles” songbook Julijus Aleksovas says that the first project with St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra from the start foresaw the sequel as the musicians then could not include all the songs they desired in the setlist of the future concerts due to the limited time of the sets. “The sequel was unavoidable”, – smiles Julijus.

The creative work of the whole crew lasted throughout 2020 – from creating a concert program and live performance concept, as well as adapting the group’s songs to orchestral music and arranging the songs, rehearsals in search of a unified sound, and finally – filming and recording the performance.

The new album by “Colours of Bubbles” “Untold Story: Chapter 2” recorded together with St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra is available on all digital music platforms. The CD and double vinyl can be ordered from the acclaimed Lithuanian record label M.P.3.
